Introduction Aim of the Coursework.The aim of this coursework is to analyze the historical and contemporary factors that have contributed to the rise of English as a global lingua franca and to assess its impact on local languages and cultures. This study seeks to explore both the positive and negative consequences of English's dominance and to examine efforts aimed at preserving linguistic diversity and cultural heritage in the face of globalization.
