Teaching modern foreign languages in secondary schools to students aged 11-16 (or up to 18) to learn a language other than their mother tongue, such as French, Spanish, German, or English, with goals of developing communication skills, promoting cultural awareness, improving grammatical knowledge and vocabulary, and building confidence and interest in language learning.
