Abu al-Aswad al-Du'ali (approx. 603–689) is considered the founder of Arabic linguistics. He organized Arabic grammar, established basic rules in syntax and morphology, and simplified reading and writing Qur’anic text. His works influenced the formation of the Basra linguistic school and paved the way for future grammar scholars
