Liver is the largest gland in the body, weighing approximately 1500g, located in the right and left upper quadrants. It receives around 1500 ml of blood per minute. The liver has two surfaces, diaphragmatic and visceral, with an inferior border. Its functions include metabolism, storage of glycogen, secretion of bile, detoxification of toxins, and production of lymph. The diaphragmatic surface of the liver is further divided into anterior, superior, posterior, and right surfaces without boundaries between subsurfaces. It is related to the inferior surface of the diaphragm but separated by the right and left sub-phrenic recesses.
