Mahsulot tavsifi

The parotid gland is the largest of three main salivary glands in our oral cavity, weighing between 14-28 grams and contributing 60-65% of the total salivary volume. It is shaped as an irregular, wedge unilobed structure. Anatomically, it is related to the facial nerve (CN VII), external carotid artery, retromandibular vein, and drains via the parotid duct of Stensen. There is also an accessory parotid gland related superiorly to the duct.
